A Day in the Life of Kate Crombie – Office Manager at MMP

One of the things I love most about being an Office Manager at MMP is the variety. Every day brings a different mix of clients, projects and tasks, which certainly keeps things interesting!

My day starts with the most important job of all – putting the kettle on and making drinks for all the team! Once we are fully caffeinated and ready for the day ahead, we hold our morning team meeting, where everyone shares what they are working on, discuss priorities and make sure we are all supporting one another. I then might have a quick catch-up with one of my team to see how things are going, answer a few questions and make sure they have everything they need. Social media is next on the list, I create the content, most likely using one of our regular hashtags, and post on all of our channels, along with liking and reposting recent activity from our clients (and hoping they might do the same for us 😊).

Next up is a daily diary and action list call with one of the clients I support as an Executive PA. What begins as a friendly catch-up, soon results in several pages of actions, follow-ups and deadlines that need to be completed over the coming days. Later in the morning, I swap hats completely, pull on a t-shirt with my client's company logo on it and join a Zoom session to help train their customers on how to use their system, with an interactive Q&A session at the end that keeps me on my toes.

The afternoon is a perfect example of the variety we enjoy at MMP. I spend some time reconciling invoice payments through a client's bank account before turning my attention to something much more creative – helping to design the front cover of a book for one of our talented author clients.

From team support and client management, to finance administration, training and creative projects, no two days are ever the same. It's a role that keeps me busy, keeps me learning and, most importantly, allows me to make a real difference to both our clients and our amazing team.
